Moving can be terrifying—especially when moving to a completely new state. Here are 3 recommendations for handling the move.

- A Change in Weather: Are you worried you can’t handle the change in seasons? Maybe you don’t do humidity or are concerned about the snow. The best solution is to come visit! Whatever season you’re worried about, make a trip and check it out. We have a ton of referrals of where to stay, where to eat, and what is an absolute must-see.
- Missing Family & Friends: Are you worried you may miss your family and friends if you move, well there are a few ways to help with this. Thankfully, advanced technology has made maintaining relationships easier than ever. Frequent FaceTimes or night-time zooms help get that face-to-face contact that can be hard when you live apart. Next, being so close to Spokane, we can get direct flights into most major cities, so visiting each other isn’t difficult. And finally, bring your loved ones with you! This is an incredible family town with lots of activities and adventures to enjoy together. We have a little bit of something for everyone up here!
- Regretting the Move: Are you concerned you’re going to regret your move? Purchasing a new home can be a huge decision, and buying in a new state can add some extra stress. So consider renting for a period of time before buying. There are plenty of 9-month rentals up here during the school year for people to test out the area before summer season hits. There’s no disruption to the academic year for your kids, and it gives you plenty of time to get to know the area before purchasing a house in the location perfect for you.
